Management Team

David Fortunato is Wealthfront’s CEO. David joined Wealthfront in 2009 as the company’s inaugural CTO and was instrumental in launching the company to its first clients in 2011. Prior to his role as CEO, David was the President of Wealthfront. David holds a BS in Computer Science and Economics from Amherst College.

Alan joined Wealthfront in 2015 and held several roles in accounting and finance before becoming CFO in 2021. Prior to Wealthfront, Alan spent nine years in public accounting performing valuation services at Crowe Horwath and KPMG. Alan is a CFA Charterholder and earned an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Kal joined Wealthfront in 2018 to lead the company's engineering group. Prior to Wealthfront, Kal spent 15 years as a senior leader in the mobile gaming industry. He cut his teeth at Glu Mobile, a publicly listed mobile game developer and publisher, where he rose to Global CTO and was responsible for growing their studio in Brazil, China and Russia. Kal also served as Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment's first San Francisco Studio Head, where he oversaw the strategy to bring iconic brands to mobile including Harry Potter, DC Comics, and Game of Thrones.

Lauren joined Wealthfront in 2020 and oversees the teams responsible for legal, compliance, regulatory affairs, and product counseling. Lauren has 20 years of experience in financial services and previously served as General Counsel and Head of Compliance at First New York, a proprietary trading partnership. Lauren also worked as in-house derivatives counsel for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Lauren holds a BA from Columbia University, cum laude, and a JD from Cornell Law School.

Julien joined Wealthfront in 2007 as a member of the founding team and one of the company’s first software engineers. Julien was appointed the CTO of Wealthfront's brokerage subsidiary in 2018 and became the CTO of the company in 2019. Julien holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University, specializing in compilers and type systems.

Houman Fardin joined Wealthfront in 2015 and serves as the Vice President of Business Development. Prior to Wealthfront, Houman led North America SMB Sales & Operations at Dropbox, and founded online funeral marketplace MemorialPath. He started his career at Morgan Stanley where he spent 13 years in Investment Banking and Institutional Equities. Houman holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from Yale University.

Jamie joined Wealthfront in 2016 to build the company’s Brokerage Operations function from the ground up. In 2017 she was appointed President and COO of Wealthfront Brokerage, and has served as its President and CEO since 2020. Jamie has been in the broker-dealer industry for more than 19 years and has led Brokerage Operations teams at LPL Financial and TD Ameritrade, among others. Jamie holds an MBA and BSBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Dave Myszewski joined Wealthfront in 2016 and is the Vice President of Product where he oversees product management, consumer research, and client support. Prior to Wealthfront, Dave worked at Apple for 12 years including a software engineering role on the team producing the first iPhone. Dave holds an MS and BS in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Andrew Crocco joined Wealthfront in 2017 as a researcher focused on go-to-market strategy and product concept development. Andrew led user research at Wealthfront for many years before taking on the challenge of leading the People Operations organization in 2025. A social scientist by training and coach by choice, he is now focused on enhancing the culture of continuous learning and improvement at Wealthfront. Andrew holds a BA from Harvard College, as well as an MA+PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.

Alex Michalka, PhD, joined Wealthfront and has led Wealthfront’s investment research team since 2019. Prior to Wealthfront, Alex held quantitative research positions at AQR Capital Management and The Climate Corporation. Alex holds a BA in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in Operations Research from Columbia University.

Jamie Kelly joined Wealthfront in 2020 and oversees the marketing and communications teams. Prior to Wealthfront, Jamie held product and brand marketing roles in Meta’s Reality Labs division, Fitbit (now a part of Google) and Clif Bar. He holds a BS in Journalism from the University of Oregon.

Angel joined Wealthfront in November of 2023 and leads product design, content design, and creative teams. Angel has 20+ years of experience building and leading customer-centric, business-focused design and product teams. Prior to Wealthfront, Angel supported cross-app experiences at Meta, growth and business platform at Dropbox, and advised and taught product-led growth. Angel holds a BArch in Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design.
